Bourbon Sangria

A whole lot of flavor in one glass. This recipe combines my favorite beverages; Pinot Noir and Kentucky’s finest spirit, Bourbon. Add in apples, oranges, and strawberries and you have a perfect Sangria to serve to friends at your next tailgate or Holiday party.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup Kentucky Bourbon

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup small apple wedges, I prefer Honeycrisp

1/2 cup small orange wedges

1/2 cup sliced strawberries

1 bottle Pinot Noir

1/4 cup orange liqueur

1 and 1/2 cups orange juice, no pulp

1 - 8.45 oz bottle tonic or club soda

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a glass pitcher, add bourbon and sugar, stir until sugar is dissolved. Add in fruit and allow to chill for at least an hour.

  2. To pitcher add in wine, orange liqueur, orange juice, stir to combine. Right before serving stir in club soda.

  3. Add a spoonful of soaked fruit into individual wine glasses, I prefer stemless, pour Sangria into glass, top with additional club soda if desired. Cheers.

Enjoy your Sangria with some of my favorite appetizers. Pecan Cheese Wafers and Figgy Piggies in a Blanket are tasty additions to your celebration.
