Manhattan Cocktail

The Manhattan Cocktail was said to have been created for a banquet hosted by Lady Randolph Churchill, Winston’s mother in honor of presidential candidate Samuel J. Tiden. What makes the Manhattan different from the Old Fashioned is rye whiskey and the substitution of vermouth to the sugar. Both delicious options, no matter which one you choose. Having a foundation of classic cocktails in your recipe box will make you the perfect host or hostess. Stock your bar with rye whisky, sweet vermouth, bitter and cherries so you can treat your guests.

1 ounce Italian vermouth

Boozy Cherries

DIRECTIONS

  1. Stir the rye, vermouth and bitters in pitcher with ice.

  2. Strain in to chilled cocktail glass and garnish with three Boozy Cherries.

Yield: 1 Cocktail
