Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

A perfect dressing for salads or dipping your favorite veggies. I have two favorite salad dressings, ranch and blue cheese. Both are creamy, herbaceous and full of flavor. They are childhood favorites that to this day are my go to dressings for my family dinners. This particular recipe calls for dried herbs but fresh can make for a perfect substitute.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup mayonnaise, Hellman’s is my preference

1/4 cup whole milk sour cream

3/4 cup whole buttermilk

2 tablespoons dried chives

1/2 teaspoon dried dill

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream and buttermilk.

  2. Stir in herbs and seasonings and allow to chill in the refrigerator for a least one hour.

  3. Taste and season with salt as needed.

Serve on your favorite salad, also as a dipping sauce on a crudités platter or with chicken wings.
