When we bought our house many years ago, our front porch became our living room during the months of remodeling.

It remains my sanctuary. A quiet place for me to read, think or create. It is also a place that I frequently welcome my friends, I’ve spent hours and hours entertaining on the porch—from a girls’ night gab session or hosting my gourmet club friends.

One of my favorite things to do on the porch is to sit and share a cocktail (or two) with friends after a hard week at work. Always a perennial favorite is a Limoncello and vodka. This seems like an overdue delicious summertime smirker in the making.

INGREDIENTS

• 2 ounces Limoncello

• 2 ounces Vodka

• 3 slices of lemon

• Ice

• Sparkling water

DIRECTIONS

1. Fill glass with ice and lemon slices.

2. Pour limoncello and vodka into glass.

3. Top off with sparkling water, stir to combine.

Yield: 1 cocktail
