How to Host the Perfect Friendsgiving Feast: Complete Guide & Menu Ideas

How to Host the Perfect Friendsgiving Feast: Complete Guide & Menu Ideas

We all know that life is busy, and it is often hard to get together with your friends. Thanksgiving—well, Friendsgiving, specifically—is a special time to celebrate friendships, laugh, and reminisce about all the wonderful memories you created together. Why not bring together some of your lifelong friends as well as new ones and host a festive Friendsgiving feast at your home? It's easier than you might think, and it's the perfect opportunity to get your social group together before December, when calendars seem to fill up left and right!

Creating the Perfect Friendsgiving Tablescape

While Friendsgiving is a food-centric holiday, you'll still want to pull together a beautiful Friendsgiving tablescape to enchant your guests. Here are some of my favorite fall entertaining decor tips:

Showcase Seasonal Decor

I love decorating with squash, dahlias (I'm not a fan of mums for the table—too fragrant!), and votive candle holders in browns, green, yellow, and orange. Fill these with unscented white votive candles—anything with a strong scent will interfere with the dining experience.

Create a Color Pop

Use an unexpected color if you dare! This isn't the time for all white china—make your gathering feel more festive by selecting dishware that features autumnal hues. Vintage glassware in brown, green, and amber is perfect for this time of year. Grab a tablecloth that coordinates with your dinnerware for a pulled-together look.

Add Some Height

I love brass candlesticks (vintage, of course!) filled with beautiful tapers. Just don't go too tall or your guests won't be able to converse across the table!

Planning Your Friendsgiving Bar

A well-planned bar is essential for any great Friendsgiving party. Here's how to keep things simple yet festive:

Offer a Signature Cocktail

Serve beer, wine, and one signature cocktail—no need to stock every spirit on your bar cart. A signature drink is festive and a real time saver. Print out the recipe and display it in a picture frame so guests can mix their own. An Old Fashioned is the perfect fall cocktail, and I especially love adding a few of our Boozy Cocktail Cherries for a Kentucky twist. Round it out with our Orange Bitters and Cherry Bitters to elevate every sip.

Don't Forget Non-Alcoholic Options

Always have a non-alcoholic option and plenty of water on hand. Ice is a must!

Stock the Bar Cart

Clean your glassware in advance and display highball, tall, and wine glasses on your bar cart. Seasonal cocktail napkins are a charming touch your guests will notice.

Friendsgiving Appetizers That Wow

Great Friendsgiving appetizers are a must. As guests arrive, greet them with a glass of champagne and have appetizers ready in the living room—it keeps everyone out of the kitchen while you handle last-minute details! Some of my favorite crowd-pleasing Thanksgiving party appetizers:

The Main Event: Friendsgiving Dinner Menu Ideas

Now for the main event! Whether you're serving family-style or buffet, make the Friendsgiving menu delicious. If you go potluck, use a shared spreadsheet so guests can claim dishes—you don't want three mashed potato dishes and no cranberry sauce! Here are some wonderful Friendsgiving dinner ideas:
