Red Hot Bourbon Margarita

There is a holiday for everything these days but one I am really thankful for is Margarita Day.

The traditional Margarita was not going to satisfy my taste buds so I had to add my curious twist. It was bourbon instead of tequila and it was a must that my favorite Red Clay Hot-Hot Honey was added for the sweet and the heat.

Ingredients:

2 ounces Kentucky bourbon, my favorite is Old Forester

1/2 ounce orange liqueur

1/2 ounce Red Clay Hot-Hot Honey

Lemon wheel

Ice

Directions:

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, bourbon, orange liqueur, honey and shake until chilled.

  2. Shake until chilled and strain into your favorite glass. Cheers

Serve with Southern Pimento Cheese and crackers for the perfect happy hour combination

Yields: 1 cocktail

Serving Suggestion: Serve in your favorite double old fashioned, garnish with a lime wedge
