When I start to think about developing an appetizer recipe I go right for what can go on a crostini. The crisp bread is a perfect vehicle to deliver tasty bites of goodness. Crostini’s are easy for guests to manage too. The combinations are endless and I like both savory and sweet. The Fig & Pecan crostini is the perfect combination of both of these flavors. A great fall appetizer to serve at tailgate parties or around the fire with your favorite cocktail.

Party Meatballs

As the weather turns cooler, I crave a hearty stew. Watching Julia Child on @PBS with my Mom was time well spent together. Julia inspired us and had us dreaming of a trip to France one day.

One year for Christmas, Mom gifted me Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking cookbook. The first recipe I made was her Beef Bourguignon recipe and I followed the recipe verbatim. These days I take some twist and turns but always use good wine and cognac. These days I will take some twist and turns with her recipe but always use good wine, why would you cook with something you would not drink, duh!
