Vieux Carre

In honor of Fat Tuesday and the enormous amount of snow in Kentucky I decided to take the bar outside.

Felt all the New Orleans vibes today and had to make a cocktail celebrating today’s famous celebration. Rye Whiskey is a favorite in this cocktail, over the rocks and especially delicious in a Manhattan.

INGREDIENTS

3/4 ounce Rye Whiskey

3/4 ounce Cognac

3/4 Sweet Vermouth

1 teaspoon Benedictine liqueur

2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters

2 dashes Angostura bitters

Lemon peel

Cocktail cherry

Ice
